Thanksgiving?

Now it looks like I won't be celebrating Thanksgiving at my new home. The plan to finish this proposal before the Holidays? Shot to hell. The Proposal Specialist in charge is now saying she doesn't see it happening. Mostly because our partners on this program in England don't look to be getting their bits back in time. Of course, they don't celebrate Thanksgiving so it doesn't mean anything to them. This is the second Holiday I won't be celebrating in my hiome. I really like Halloween but I didn't get to do anything about it.

My house is still in boxes and my time runs out to get those boxes back to the moving company on Thanksgiving weekend. I don't know what will happen. I'll email my contact to find out.

I just feel empty right now. My cats are in California slowly forgetting me. I'm not in my house. And I'm twiddling my thunmbs because nothing is ready for me. WHY AM I HERE??

That sucks. I'll cross my fingers that they get the stuff back before the holiday.

I would say that if they don't, you could celebrate Thanksgiving by dumping tea in the nearest waterway, but I don't think it would have any affect on the situation... or the act might get lost in the translation from our English to their English. :D

Still, I hope they get their shit done so you can celebrate properly in your new home.

Well, that sucks. I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything work out and you can still get back in time.

Hopefully, the moving company will be understanding about the boxes and won't penalize you too badly.

That's a bummer. I hope things sort themselves out for you.

I wish I could go to your house and help you!

Shouldn't they understand that you just moved? That you have deadlines of your own to finish, you don't want the moving company to charge you for the boxes. If they do, you should hand the bill to your project manager.

I also wish I could some how not make you feel 'empty'. I don't know how much air fare is to Michigan (or what airport is near to you), but coming from Minnesota shouldn't be too bad. I wish I could be there for you in person. I know how a move can totally put your life upside down. Especially when moving to a whole new state, and leaving behind your whole life up until now.

Say the word and I will try to help you, you are not alone {{hugs}}

Your kitties won't forget you! (Though they may punish you.) Hopefully you can get a letter from your project manager to send to the moving company so you won't have to pay for the boxes. And we'll be thinking of you. I'll be working on Thanksgiving myself. Hugs.
